About UCI

UCI campus sits on 1,500 acres of coastal foothills in Orange County, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. Located in Irvine, which consistently ranks as one of the safest large cities in the nation, UCI is centrally located to surfing beaches, bike trails, hiking, desert camping and mountain resorts. The centerpiece of the campus is the Aldrich Park. Its unique circular design consists of sweeping lawns, native shrubs, and large trees, and the park is surrounded by the university’s academic buildings. UC Irvine ranked first among U.S. universities under 50 years old!

UCI Housing

UCI offers on-campus housing for students and full-time employees. There are 10 student housing communities on the UCI campus, tailored to meet the needs of a diverse student population. In addition, the University Hills was created as an academic community in residence to provide affordable housing to eligible full-time employees including faculty, postdoc or research assistant. It is within walking distance of Irvine shopping, restaurants and entertainment, as well as campus academic and athletic activities and neighborhood recreational amenities. The community has four apartment communities, two condominium associations, townhomes, paired homes, single family detached homes and a few custom homes. In all, University Hills has 360 apartments and 1,122 for-sale homes on over 300 acres.
